The Drift Stones (also known as 'The Triganeeris Stones' or 'The Sisters') are a pair of Bronze Age standing stones, 2.5 and 3 metres in height, situated in a Cornish field near the hamlet of Higher Drift. The larger stone is said to resemble an old lady dressed in a cloak, and as you would expect, there are associated petrification legends as is common with megalithic sites.

Access is limited (depending on the time of year) by the presence of crops, and there is no public right of way, as the stones are situated on private land.

The Drift Stones are worth a visit - especially given their proximity to Boscawen Un - and they really are a pair of characters.

It's a long time since I visited The Drift Stones, and I've only just got around to digging them out of my photo archive and adding them to the site. As a result of this, the images aren't great quality due to their age.
