Machrie Moor I is one of the smaller circles in the Machrie Moor cluster. It is formed from six granite boulders and five sandstone slabs, placed in an alternate arrangement. Four of the granite stones have fallen.

Although not the grandest of the monuments on Machrie Moor, circle I is still striking, especially in the right light.
