Tŷ Newydd is a Neolithic portal tomb situated near the village of Llanfaelog on the Isle of Anglesey. It's a partially reconstructed burial chamber with a large, cracked capstone supported by three of the four remaining upright stones - assisted by a more modern brick pillar. Originally, the entire structure would have been covered by an earth mound enclosing a chambered tomb beyond the stone entrance. The edge of this mound is marked out by the small bollards surrounding the monument.
Although there's not much to see, a day out on Anglesey is always a pleasure, and Tŷ Newydd is a lovely quiet spot tucked away in the corner of a field where there's a good chance you'll be undisturbed by other visitors.
