Trethevy Quoit is a well preserved portal tomb consisting of seven upright stones supporting a 10 ton capstone. Like other tombs of its type, it would originally have been covered with a mound of earth, with a large front stone covering the entrance (or portal).

Unusually, while most tombs were sealed, Trethevy Quoit features a small moveable stone that would have allowed access to the interior.

The set of photographs here are over fifteen years old and taken before I was using an SLR. The quality isn't great, but I thought I'd add them until I get a chance to re-visit the site.
