Moss Farm Road is a burial cairn on the edge of Machrie Moor surrounded by a circle of twelve stones, of which seven remain upright and five have fallen. The tallest stone is about 1m in height. The site is surrounded by a fence, and it is cut through on its north side by a modern farm track.
This is the first site encountered along the path to the other stones of Machrie Moor. As such, it's a humble beginning, but the view of the moor and the path stretching ahead make it a tantalising and atmospheric start to the journey.
